What Is Greenguard Certification?

Certified products meet stringent chemical emissions requirements like getting screened for more than 10,000 volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

The GREENGUARD Certification is a widely trusted, comprehensive, standard and scientifically based assessment for identifying product’s emissions profile.

UL GREENGUARD gold certification helps manufacturers create and buyers identify interior products and materials that have low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in which the products are used.

Products are screened against 11,000 chemicals to assess exposure to complex chemical mixtures. It evaluates emissions characteristics of more than 360 individual chemicals, including toxicity thresholds and the total level of chemicals emitted.

The certification follows more than 400 green building codes, standards, guidelines, procurements policies, and rating systems to recognize or reference UL GREENGUARD GOLD Certified products.
